Upcoming Events
New Academic Year begins

On July 6, the new academic year at PTS began with an opening worsPlease Turn on Imageship. Rev. Samuel Macgregor, President of the Board addressed the gathering that was followed by a community dinner. In the following days Faculty and Staff met together for devotion, discussion and evaluation, as well as plan for the New Year. During 13-18 July, Greek and Hebrew classes were held for the 2nd and 3rd year M. Div students. Regular classes for all started on 30 July 2009.

The Spiritual Life Conference and Orientation: The Spiritual Life Conference began on 22nd July 08. Principal Dr. Mohan Chacko welcomed the student body and introduced the Faculty and Staff members. The Open Bible (NKJV) was given to each of the new students in memory of the late Rev. John L. Dorsey, former President of the PTS Board. There are 35 new students, plus 3 other returning students after one or two years of break, bringing this year\'s enrollment to 112 . The new students come from 13 different states of our country, plus few from our neighboring countries.

Green Valley Apartment

Five married families have moved in to the Green Valley campus on Please Turn on Images17 July 2009 after an opening prayer was made by Rev. Samuel Macgregor, President of the board of PTS. Seven families will be moving in any time now. Thus the two floors are ready for occupancy. The first floor, meant for faculty and staff including all pending works is expected to be completed hopefully by October 2009.

News from the Field: Mr. Jaywant Das (07) is working in Orissa with his father. He and his father are looking after an independent church known as Nav Jeevan Calvary Church. Jaywant Das started a school in a rented building for backward tribal belt area in Thuamul Rampur in Kalahandi district. There are 32 students at the moment with 3 teachers. They meet once a week as a fellowship in the school and also meet twice a week as a house fellowship. There are 15 communicant members and 18 non-communicant members in the Bhawanipatna church and at two other villages with 50 members. Jaywant is praying for the possibility of constructing a school and church building in 2.40 acres of land already available. They have been meeting in houses over the last five years.

Testimony: Sahas Moktan belongs to a Buddhist family from Nepal. While he was about 12 years old staying in a hostel, he lost two of his brothers and one sister while his mother and the other sister were rescued when their house was covered with debris due to landslide. That incident was a turning point of his life to Christ. After he completed higher secondary education, he was offered a job. He was pressurized by his family to get the job and on the other hand warned that he would face persecution in the future if he chose to be trained for Christian ministry. He chose the later and came to PTS with great zeal to study the Bible. There are several others who come from Buddhist from Nepal and also one from Tibet.

Projects:
A mini bus (tempo traveler): A mini bus is needed to be used for outreach ministries, class related and for official purposes. The cost is about Rs. 865,000. This is the main fundraising project for the 40th Anniversary of PTS.

Student Support:
There are several student candidates who are in need of support. Sponsor a student for 4 or 3 years by investing Rs. 55,000 or US $ 1,222 (M.Div), Rs. 45,000 or US $ 1000 (B.Th) per year as full support to cover tuition and boarding, or any amount as partial help.

Faculty Apartment Repair:
The floor of one apartment sank in the living room and bedroom when there was earthquake few years ago. The floors need to be re-made with marble chips. The cost of the project is Rs. 60,000/-

Computer needed: Three computers and one laptop are needed for Faculty members costing Rs. 23,000 ($510) per one desk top computer and Rs. 30,700/- for a laptop computer.
